The appeals office

Think we got it wrong?

You may appeal any certification decision. The appeal will be heard by the same three assessors who made it, wearing different sweaters, which we are assured is how appeals work.
The panel

The assessors

Chief Assessor

Marjorie Purl

Thirty-one years in knitwear, eleven in VR. Has never once given a Certified Hideous on the first look, and has never once worn anything but black. Says the two are connected and will not say how.

Assessor, tinsel

Dev Okonkwo-Bramble

The Bureau’s only tinsel specialist, and the reason the committee is still arguing about it. Owns a sweater that has been Referred to the Gallery three years running and wears it in July.

Assessor, British office

Clive Harrogate

Calls them jumpers. Has asked us to stop pointing this out. Responsible for clause 6.3, the eleven-point snowflake, and for the fact that we never discuss it.

We do not need to see the sweater again. We remember it.

The Bureau of Ugly Sweater Standards is not a real organisation. BUSS 1225 is not a real standard, and every clause, annex, fee, mark and assessor on this site is invented. Nobody will be certifying, inspecting or appealing anything, and no answers or button presses identify you.

A note for the season: heavy avatars are a real burden on some people’s computers. If someone’s sweater is too much for yours, hiding their avatar in your safety settings is perfectly fine and nobody needs to know. Wear what you like; let others see what they can run.

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any standards body, VR platform, avatar maker or knitwear company. All artwork was drawn for this site. The views expressed here are not necessarily supported or condoned by VRCooperative.
